This article will guide you on the Preparation Strategy for the NIFT Entrance Exam 2023-24 - 25. The exam is mainly divided into two Parts.

Theory and

Practical

1. THEORY consists of further categories like Creative Ability Test CAT &  General Ability Test  GAT.

The CAT and GAT are held on the same day around January, and the Situation test is held around April or May.

Talking about CAT & GAT

CAT stands for Creative Ability Test, which has mainly Drawing based questions.

GAT stands for General Ability Test, which is Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

CAT holds 50% of the total weightage, consisting of 3 principal questions, having a duration of 3 hours.

Bangalore, May 21st 2021, National Institute of Design NID has announced “The DAT Prelims results of B.Des. and M.Des. programmes will be announced in the first week of June 2021.”

The result will be declared by the authority through online mode only on NID official website. No other mode will be available to download the NID score card. The score card will be considered valid only for the current academic year.

Candidates can check their results by logging into their registered account on the official website. Candidates are advised to preserve their admit card till the selection procedure.

The authority will also release the separate cut-off for all categories.

New Delhi 19th May 2021,National Aptitude Test of Architecture NATA 2nd Attempt  Exam has been Postponed. In view of the severity of second wave of covid - 19 and subsequent lockdowns being imposed in several states and union territories in the country for containment of pandemic, it has been decided by the competent authority of the council of Architecture that the second test of data 2021 examination shall now be help on July 11, 2021 instead of earlier scheduled date June 12,2021.

The revised NATA brochure with revised important dates for the second test shall be uploaded shortly on NATA website www.nata.in and as well on website of council www.coa.gov.in . The NATA portal shall remain open to facilitate students applying for registration for second test.

It May be clarified that as per COA ( Minimum Standards of Architecture Education) Regulation, 2020, all candidates need to qualify an Aptitude test conducted by the council of architecture for admission to Bachelors of Architecture  courses.

NATA 2021 Eligibility Criteria

Before applying for the examination, candidates must fulfill the required NATA 2021 Eligibility Criteria which are given below:

• Age Criteria: There is no Age limit to apply for National Aptitude Test in Architecture.
• Qualifying Examination: Passed in 10+2 scheme of examination or 10+3 diploma examination. Candidates appearing in 2021 are also eligible to apply for NATA. International Baccalaureate Diploma passed/appearing, after 10 years of schooling with Mathematics as a compulsory subject of examination.
• Qualifying Exam Subjects: 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and 10+3 Diploma holders (any stream)/ appearing recognized by Central/ State Government with Mathematics as one of the subjects. 
• Art Stream Candidates: Candidates having Art Stream are also eligible if they have qualified Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects conducted by CBSE.

NATA Application Form 2021 is interactive and can be filled in few simple steps.is completely online and is as follows:

Step 1: Visit NATA Official Website nata.in and navigate to Online Application 2021.

Step 2: Fill personal details like name, parents name, DoB, correspondence address likewise. 8 digit numeric Application Number will be generated for the candidate. After which applicants have to choose a password and security question for further login.

Step 3: Login again using the credentials (Application Number and Password) and upload the images in the specified format. Scanned recent colour photograph, preferably in white background and clear signature on white paper in jpg/ jpeg format has to be uploaded. 

NATA 2021 Exam Pattern

Council of Architecture (COA) has released NATA Exam Pattern  for 1st attempt and it is similar to the pattern will be followed .

Highlights of NATA exam pattern 2021 are as follows:

• NATA 2021 will be conducted in two parts namely Part A and Part B.

• Understanding the important visual principles in a composition (2D & 3D) such as rhythm, balance, directions, hierarchy, etc.
• Understanding Geometry and the ability to visualize the shape and solve geometrical puzzles to test special intelligence.
• Understanding the color theory and the various terminologies to test color scheme awareness and knowledge.
• Visual system interpretation, and perception to test graphical similarities and other properties; Ability to understand the spatial relationship between objects and to visualize images and scenarios; Tests for cognitive ability perception, attention, recognition, memory, etc.

NIFT Situation test 2021 is basically a hand on test to evaluate the candidate’s material handling skill, innovation & creative ability in a given situation with a given set of materials. So, in situation test, you'll get some materials like cardboard, mount board, ivory sheet, thick colored paper A4 size ­ 4 or 5 pieces, straws, frozen dessert sticks, Thermocol balls, thread spool, and needle, cloth, pins, Thermocol A4 size, wire, newspaper, clay, etc. You get the paper which can have 3 questions out of which you've got to aim anybody question. You have to pick an issue that seems easy to you then with the given material you've got to make 3 D model. After that, you've got written about your model, how you get inspired for a specific model, how you utilize the given material, how does your model helps others, so all these belongings you need to write of a given sheet. Then after finishing the test, clean your desk and put your model, question paper, and answer sheet on your desk and leave the category. NIFT CAT exam pattern is such that candidates are evaluated on the basis of their intuition skill, power of observation, innovation in the development of a concept as well as design ability of the candidate. One of the most important aspects of NIFT CAT exam is that it tests the creative as well as innovative use of colour and illustration skills of aspirants.

NIFT CAT is a paper-pencil based exam and it is of three hours duration.
